Welcome to Paws Plus You and the AKC Family Dog Program!

You don't need a pure breed dog to participate.

The Family Dog Program is the American Kennel Club's (AKC) comprehensive good manners series that can improve behavior

& form the foundation your dog needs to participate in other AKC Sports. 

 

No matter which dog training program or activity you choose, the one thing is for sure: You and your dog will develop an even deeper bond than you ever thought possible.

 

Currently Paws Plus You offers 3 of the programs:

*  AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY

S.T.A.R stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility and is the perfect place to start teaching your puppy proper socialization and basic manners.  The necessary items are taught for the S.T.A.R. test that is given by an AKC Approved Evaluator.

This class is taught as our Puppy Fundamentals/STAR Puppy class for puppies aged 6 months or younger.  Click for more info & booking:

*  AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN

If working toward your Canine Good Citizen’s (CGC) test is one of your goals, this class will head you in that direction.  Our class covers learning the 10 Canine Good Citizen requirements for the test which is given by an AKC Approved Evaluator.

This class is taught as our Beyond Basic Fundamentals & CGC class for dogs aged 5 months to Adult.  Click for more info & booking:

*  AKC COMMUNITY CANINE

Community Canine is the advanced level of the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program which is all about ensuring you have a well-behaved dog while you’re out and about in the community.  This class is for students who have gone through our Beyond Basic Fundamentals class and that have passed the Canine Good Citizen test.
