Puppy Preschool:  10 weeks - 16 weeks
Basic Fundamentals:  5 months - 1 year
Confident Canines: 6 months - 1 year
Puppy Hobnob: 10 weeks - 1 year
Private Training:  All ages

Question 2

I am a new client, what do I need to do to book a class?"

Accepted Answer

Choose which class is the right fit for your dog and your schedule. 
You will be required to submit the following prior to the first lesson:
Full payment
Proof of required vaccination record for the dog and negative fecal test result
Client Information Form
Group Class Contract or Private Lesson Contract
Read our Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy
 
Paws Plus You offers a FREE phone consultation to discuss your dogs needs if you prefer in home private lessons.  You will be contacted by a Paws Plus You trainer within 48 hrs after you submit the Client Information form.

Question 3

What types of payments does Paws Plus You accept?

Accepted Answer

Currently Paws Plus You accepts online payments via PayPal, cash, check* or money order
payable prior to attending the first class.
*There will be a $25 charge for any check returned as non-sufficient funds (NSF).
Paws Plus You will no longer accept personal checks from you without a trainers approval*

What medical information do you require?

Accepted Answer

Proof of current annual vaccinations & fecal test.
Age 10 - 16 weeks: 2 Distemper/Parvo/Lepto Combo, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and documentation of a negative fecal test.
Age 16 weeks-Adult:  Completed series of: Distemper/Parvo/Lepto Combo, Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Rabies and documentation of a negative fecal test.
 
A copy of your dog's current vaccination history & fecal results must be on file at least 24 hours prior to the first class meeting.  Any exceptions for day of submission must be approved prior by a Paws Plus You Trainer.  To protect the other dogs, NO DOGS will be able to enter the training facility until the proof of vaccinations & negative fecal test are approved.

What do I need to bring to class?

Accepted Answer

Bring Items:  6' long nylon or leather leash, buckle collar or harness, and lots of yummy treats!  Example: Hot dog chunks, chicken, freezed dried liver, or any type of commercial training treats.
 
We DO NOT allow: Retractable Leashes, Choke Chains, Pinch Collars, Shock Collars, or Slip Leads
 
We highly suggest that your dog does not have their meal prior to class as they will become more motivated to learn. 
 
Please take your dog potty prior to class to limit any 'accidents'.

Question 6

What are your policies for cancellations or missed classes?

Accepted Answer

Once the 6 week course starts, there is no refunds for skipped classes.
 
It is unavoidable to have unforeseen things come up in life to disrupt our plans. 
Missed classes can be taken the following week after the course is finished.
It will be on the usual class day & time.  
We understand that and will work with you to find the best solution for you.

Do you train aggressive dogs?

We do offer positive reinforcement training for mildly aggressive dog behavior.  This could include issues with slight nipping, fear growling, or other mild aggressive issues.  Our BEHAVIORAL QUESTIONNAIRE  will give you the opportunity to disclose any/all adverse behavior your dog exhibits.  If Paws Plus You determines your dog does not met the safety requirements for our group classes, we would be happy to refer you to a certified veterinarian pet behaviorist where your dog can get the benefit from an aggression/reactivity expert.

Can I do a walk-in on any training class to get an idea as to what to expect?

Yes!  We offer waiting lists on all our classes that are held at The Lodge & Pet Supplies Plus.

Occasionally we do have a cancellation on a sold out class that has not begun yet.
